Gianni Berengo Gardin is the master of Italian photography.
The fruit of fifty years of work and travels throughout Italy and the world, his photographs are a unique testament of our times, suffused with humanity and a deft ironic touch. His eye has fallen on famous views of Venice and Milan, on psychiatric institutions, gypsy communities and post-war society. His passion for and curiosity about his subjects shines through this luminous retrospective, which brings together 250 of his best photographs from the last half century and includes three interviews with the photographer himself.
