Miró in his Studio

Text by Joan Punyet Miró

'My dream, when I am in a position to settle down somewhere, is to have a very large studio … '

In 1956 Miró at last found himself in a position to settle down in a very large white studio in Palma, Mallorca. It was here that he continued to work until his death in 1983.

The text in this lovely book, by the artist's grandson Joan Punyet Miró, recalls the old man with blue eyes who taught him as a child to 'listen to the silence' while Jean-Marie del Moral's photographs capture beautifully the poetic universe of that 'large studio', peopled with paintings and the found and famiiar objects that guided Miró's inspiration.
